I'm writing to inform you that I was unexpectedly dismissed from my volunteer position at Honeyman State Park today, one week before my scheduled departure. I was not given any paperwork or official documentation. I was simply told to turn over
my keys and leave within 24 hours.

I believe this dismissal was not only unprofessional but retaliatory, stemming from a series of escalating tensions initiated after I submitted a respectful email expressing concern over a prior interaction with leadership. Since that moment,
I’ve experienced a breakdown in communication, exclusion, and intimidation. Today’s action felt targeted and final, without process or fairness.

Because I had already committed to this volunteer program for the full year—with parks lined up nearly every month—this sudden dismissal has placed me in a logistical and financial crisis. I have no current housing and limited funds until I
begin my next assignment.

I am reaching out not only to request review of how this was handled but to ask whether there is any immediate support the department can offer as I transition. I believe I’ve served with integrity and deep commitment to the mission of Oregon
