Thank you for such a welcoming response! Wednesday would be perfect for a call -- I'll be traveling that day, moving back to Cape Blanco for the holidays. The January position at Tugman is perfect timing. I've been exploring the 101 since arriving from Kentucky, finding my place along this coast. Your Management Unit sits right between my familiar territory and new areas I want to explore -- it feels like an ideal next step. My availability is wide open. I'm looking to transition from programming into park service work, whether that's seasonal ranging, maintenance, or other opportunities. In the meantime (or perhaps in conjunction), I'd like to deepen my ties to this coast through volunteer opportunities -- if you let me know when and where I'm needed, I can plan around it. I should also expand on what I mentioned in my application about Humbug Mountain. The injury wasn't just from one enthusiastic descent -- it was from continuing to hike ten miles daily for eight weeks afterward, exploring every trail from Brookings to Bandon. Cape Blanco, Cape Sebastian, Pistol River, Loeb, the Samuel H. Boardman corridor... I wanted to know these parks intimately. When my body finally demanded rest, I listened -- spent two weeks healing at Cape Blanco (long enough that Jerry noticed my absence!). I'm much better now, though I might need to pace myself a bit below my natural intensity level. I mention this because it shows both my dedication to these parks and my ability to adjust when needed -- even if it takes me a while to listen! I'd love to learn more about both immediate and longer-term possibilities in your parks. Here's a photo of me from today (my way of showing up). Let me know what time works best for you on Wednesday! Hope you have an excellent "weekend!" 🙃 Sam
