So I have filled the May Welcome Center position just this morning, but I do still have a Site Maintenance position available for May if you are interested in that.

As for the open Ranger positions, what will be posted is going to be the entry level Seasonal Ranger Assistant positions, which will not have the same level of requirements as the full time Ranger positions, so generally most of the Rangers, myself included, start off as Ranger Assistants that are hired seasonally for the busy summer months.  It helps you to get a grasp on how operations work from the park staff's side of things and helps to build those skills that are essential for getting the full time Ranger Jobs.  A job that is also posted as a "Seasonal Ranger" would mean it is still on the same level as a Full time Park Ranger, but they have a few months off during the calendar year, so it is still a higher-level position than a Seasonal Ranger Assistant.

The Seasonal Ranger Assistant positions should be getting posted on the Workday website in the next week or so, so definitely keep an eye out for them.  It would be under the Parks & Recreation category, which will then list the Park that has posted the Seasonal Assistant Positions.

If you were to get a Ranger Assistant position it does complicate being a Park Host, as you cannot do both at the same time, and would then have to find a different place to reside as Park Staff are not given campsites to live in like the Park Hosts.  The Host site is part of the package of being a volunteer as it is an unpaid position, but if you were to become a paid employee, such as a Ranger Assistant, then you will have to find your own place to reside outside of the campground.  You are still allowed to camp at the campground as a paid employee, but you would be just a regular visitor at that point and subject to all of the stay limits that we have for our regular guests (State Parks have a 14 day stay limit for our campers which does not apply to Park Hosts).
