I.

On March 24, 2026, a federal agent unlocked a gate and guided two Oregon State Police troopers to my residence on restricted federal land.

I asked the United States Forest Service what its role had been.

On July 24, 2026, the District Ranger answered in writing. She stated that the Forest Service did not initiate the interview, and that its involvement was limited to unlocking the gate and guiding Oregon State Police to the work center.

On July 27, 2026, the Patrol Captain stated that the federal officer had been referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility for an administrative investigation.

They told the truth about their own conduct, named where their responsibility ended, referred their own man, and kept me in place, even praised my work.

II. What it cost them

Nothing.

I documented it. Their answers are in the archive under their own names. That is all that happened. I filed no claim, made no demand, and asked no one to investigate them.

I remain on their land. I am the volunteer caretaker of the Siltcoos corridor. I hold a truck, a daily route, and a set of keys. I intend to apply for seasonal employment with them when jobs are announced shortly.

That is the whole of what happens when a public agency tells the truth to me. It ended with their own accounting.

That is all I have ever required of anyone, including myself. Accountability to the self. When you see a corrupt act, how do you respond? With more corruption, or with accountability?

III.

You have never tested this.

Every act since March 2025 has been taken on the assumption that disclosure is the danger and silence is the shelter. It is the opposite. What happened at Honeyman was two months and two employees. Everything since has been the cost of not saying so.

The dismissal covered the meeting. The expulsion covered the dismissal. The silence covered the expulsion. The closed channel covered the silence. The deputy covered the closed channel. The police were sent to cover all of it up.

You made them culpable for something that stains their integrity, and your own.

Each of those made the honorable act harder than it had been the day before, because each one added something new that would have to be admitted along with everything under it.

You made this worse with every act, and forced me to carry it because you wouldn't. That is simply the truth.

IV.

And this ends when you start telling the truth.

Who sent the man to the yurts and why. Who sent the police to my home on the anniversary. Withdraw the letter that is obstructing my constitutional rights. Give volunteers the protections the policy does not give them. Don't allow local staff to continue abusing
the unpaid labor you rely on to run your parks.

I am not asking for a settlement, an apology, or anyone's job. I am asking for the same thing the Forest Service gave me, and I will do with it exactly what I did with theirs. It goes in the archive. The record stands as complete. I stop.

The Oregon State Police are copied here because the same is available to them. They inherited this. They can end their part of it in an afternoon by producing what they hold.

You have had this option since April 2025 and you have it today. Everything I have done for eighteen months has been an attempt to make it possible for you to take it.
