Hi Sam,

I heard back from the other Hosts and I will be able to keep you in site 383 for March as well.

Will do!

Ideally this will never happen.

This was about edge cases and I take this responsibility very seriously.

Will I be in my spot next month? Not sure if that was worked out.

Hope you're having a good day!

Nice, Congratulations.

If you end up with a day that you won’t be able to cover the gates, go ahead and text me at [phone] instead of email, that way I know to either go open the gate or to ask someone for coverage for the evening as I don’t always check my email first thing in the morning.

Thanks, [Volunteer Services Lead]. This is pretty much what I thought you might say. I'll let you know if I ever see a conflict with this so the gate can be covered according to these time constraints.

I have exciting news! I just got a campground host position at Humbug Mountain for May and June! This is literally my favorite place on earth! Literally. My favorite. On earth!

Hi Sam,

Preferably we try to open and close them around the posted hours, mainly for the park quiet hours which begin at 10pm and end at 7 am. It likely won’t be an issue if it gets opened around 6 am as there aren’t that many people that use it early in the morning. As far as closing, if it were a little after 10, say 10:30, it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but we do try to get it closed around 10 to line up with the posted quiet hours as it helps prevent campers from driving around their loud OHV’s after quiet hours.

Ranger🤠 [Volunteer Services Lead]:

Sorry, I hope I'm not annoying you. 😂

Can I get a box of medium black rubber gloves? The chain to the gate is rusty and I don't like touching it with my bare hands...

Also have question about edge cases. You do not need to worry about this being a common occurrence (these are edge cases), I simply want to know how much autonomy I have to responsibly manage my gate duties...

Can I open it early if I want to go somewhere for the day? Say I'm going to explore a state forest and I want to leave at 5 or 6am. Is it okay if I open the gate before I go?

Similar question about closing though I think this far less likely. Can I close it early or late on rare occasions?

I will accommodate your answers, please don't worry about the gate. I just want an edge cases protocol.

Thanks,

Sam
