Good morning Mr. White,

Thank you for reaching out to our office regarding this situation with OPRD. In terms of how the process works regarding audit requests, those requests go through the Secretary of State's Audit Division, and they determine if there is an adequate basis in order to conduct an audit based on a state agency's "waste, inefficiency or abuse of government resources."

You can submit that request here: Report Waste, Inefficiency, or Abuse of State Government Resources | Oregon Secretary of State | State of Oregon<https://sos.oregon.gov/audits/Pages/accountability.aspx>

If the SOS's office determines that there is a basis for an audit, then the audit is set to begin based on the ability of the office to conduct it, and it is calendared and the process can take 1-2 years.

At that point, the Joint Legislative Audit Committee (JLAC) reviews audits from the SOS's Division of Audits, and the committee is responsible for selecting audit reports for review and recommending changes or remediation.

Thank you again for reaching out to us.

Sincerely,

Jon Pugsley
Legislative Director
