Hi, [Tugman Volunteer Services Lead],

I wanted to share this with you so you know where my head is at.

Today I worked a double at the welcome center because all the other hosts left. It was my last day there. John spent three hours with me, so he got to see me in this role firsthand—I hope you’ll ask him about it.

This is what I want to do. I feel valued in this role. I help people. I elevate their experiences at these parks. They like me. Over and over, guests tell me how glad they are that I was the one who helped them. This isn’t performative—it’s
real. John witnessed this.

It’s what I’ll be doing at Beverly Beach, and I’m excited for it. But there are a lot of months in between. I’ve reached out to South Beach, Nehalem Bay, and Cape Lookout. None of those VSLs have responded, and [Volunteer Services Lead] isn’t helping.

My work ethic is undeniable. My contributions are undeniable. I bring value to everything I touch.

Will you help me? I want to work in welcome centers. Bullards Beach is another possibility. Maybe other parks I haven’t considered? And Umpqua—because I value my connection to you, and I won’t let that disintegrate, even if it means cleaning
yurts.

Samuel
