District Ranger Holman, My name is Robert Samuel White. I serve as a volunteer caretaker at the Siltcoos Work Center. On March 24, 2026 — the one-year anniversary of my dismissal from Oregon State Parks — a U.S. Forest Service Special Agent from the investigative branch arrived at the locked gate of this work center with two unidentified state officers. They told me they were concerned about what I was posting online. I declined to speak without an attorney and closed the door. I have since corresponded with Patrol Captain Felicia Sloan. She confirmed Agent Oliver's role and assignment. When I asked directly who authorized the visit and what its purpose was, she redirected me to FOIA. When I asked for the identity of the state officers who accompanied him, she redirected me to FOIA. She has not answered either question. I cannot feel safe on this land when a supervisory officer will not tell me who came to my door, who sent them, or why. I want to be direct with you. This has been a rewarding year. I grew fond of this place and this institution. I did not want the Forest Service in the record at all. But I am not the one who brought a Forest Service investigator to my door. That choice was made by someone else. You issued First Amendment auditor guidance to your staff. That told me everything about your integrity. I am writing to you now because that same judgment is what this situation still requires. I have a right to know who authorized that visit. I have a right to know who those officers were. And I have a right to feel safe at my federal work center. Can you help me get those answers? Robert Samuel White Siltcoos Work Center
