Dear [District staff], and District Ranger Holman, I want to start by thanking you for taking me in and giving me a chance to thrive here. For a time, I think I did. I am grateful for the year I had. There were so many good experiences. You have been extraordinary. But then the police showed up at my door. And now I don't feel safe here. It's worse than that. I don't feel wanted here. A full week has passed and I still don't know the identities of the officers who came to intimidate me. Today I learned that a Special Agent of the United States Forest Service sits at the center of it. No one will tell me who authorized the visit, what its purpose was, or whether I am safe. I am navigating an uncertain future. My industry was destabilized by artificial intelligence and I choose to volunteer as a way to contribute meaningfully while I rebuild. I also carry an active civil rights case against Oregon State Parks that is heading toward federal court. It is increasingly clear that someone at Oregon State Parks convinced someone in the Forest Service to sabotage my relationship with this institution. I did not bring that here. They did. That officer is responsible for the choices he made. This cannot be quietly set aside. There is too much at stake for me. You have had a year to get to know me. You know I don't deserve this. I don't want to leave. I built something here. But I will not stay where I do not feel wanted, and I do not feel wanted when I am left without support or answers after armed officers came to my door. I would like to know if a placement at Olympic Peninsula remains possible while this situation is addressed. That is not a retreat. That is me trying to find a path forward that preserves what we built together. I hope you can help me find it. Warm Regards, Samuel
